The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system provides steering correction when sensors detect any loss of wheel traction or if the vehicle travels away from the intended direction (e.g. skid). ESC automatically applies individual wheel braking, engine and transmission adjustments to control individual wheels to help regain control while braking or when there is rapid steering movement.

The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) enhances safety under emergency braking situations by preventing your brakes from locking up and distributing braking force according to your vehicle’s load.

The all-new Elantra offers extra personal security with the Hyundai Active Locking Operation (HALO) system, which locks all the doors when your driving speed reaches 40 km/h, and then unlocks them once the key is removed from the ignition. Front seat occupants can override the system to easily exit the car.
